This is an art book with a unique approach to seeing paintings and context. The idea is based on exploring the art of seeing common things in uncommon ways. Designed to be interactive, the book offers visual connections between photographs and Gooden’s paintings.

Rather than being a book of beautiful objects and settings, the pages are filled with images of everything from a car bumper to mops, weathered walls, fishing nets, fireworks and more.

Two hundred and forty pages of full color images illustrate a personal experience that can happen to anyone, anywhere, any time.

While the book is written by an American painter working in Mexico, the concept of the book reaches beyond one person’s experience.  The book invites the reader to translate images based on his/her perspective and encourages seeing deeply in daily life.

Brief narratives are sprinkled throughout the book written in both English and Spanish.

Currently being printed in China, the book is scheduled to be released this Fall, 2024
